South Korean Actress Kim Sae-ron Found Dead in Seoul Apartment at 24

South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron was found dead in her Seoul apartment on Sunday, nearly two years after she withdrew from the public eye following a drunk driving conviction. She was 24.

Police Investigating the South Korean Actress Cause of Death

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police, a friend discovered Kim’s body at approximately 4:55 p.m. local time (07:55 GMT). And immediately alerted authorities. Investigators said there were no signs of foul play, but needs official autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Police sources told local media that Kim had not been in regular contact with many people recently, and her reclusive lifestyle had raised concerns among those close to her. Authorities have not confirmed whether she left behind any notes or messages.

    A Promising Career Cut Short

Born in Seoul in 2000, the South Korean Actress made her acting debut at the age of nine and quickly gained recognition. As one of South Korea’s most talented young stars, she first rose to international prominence with her role in A Brand New Life (2009), which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

She later starred alongside Won Bin in The Man from Nowhere (2010), South Korea’s highest-grossing film that year, cementing her status as a rising star. Kim’s other acclaimed performances included roles in The Neighbour (2012), A Girl at My Door (2014), and the fantasy drama Mirror of the Witch (2016).

Kim’s career took a hit in May 2022 when she was arrested for drunk driving in Seoul. Surveillance footage from the incident showed her crashing her vehicle into a transformer box, causing a power outage in the area. In April 2023, she was fined 20 million won ($15,000) by the court.

Following the controversy, Kim largely retreated from the public eye. Netflix edited out much of her performance in the 2023 drama Bloodhounds, and she struggled to regain her footing in the entertainment industry.

    Industry and Fans React

News of Kim’s passing has sent shockwaves through South Korea’s entertainment industry. Tributes have poured in from fellow actors, filmmakers, and fans who remember her as a gifted performer with immense potential.

Her management agency has not yet released an official statement, and funeral arrangements have not been disclosed.

The investigation into her death remains ongoing.

  • Cardi B Floors A Troll For Mocking Her Outfit

Cardi B Floors A Troll For Mocking Her Outfit

Popular American rapper and songwriter Cardi B recently slammed a wannabe fashion police who questioned and disparaged her designer get-up. The 29 year old famous queen of clap backs was born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar in The Bronx, New York. She has garnered an extensive fan base on social media over the years due to her successful music career, jolly personality and toggle switch marriage to American rapper, Offset. Including her “no filter” attitude, unrivalled style and candid remarks.

Cardi B posted photos on Twitter on Sunday, September 11, 2022 with caption “Baby can you blow my heart up.” Her outfit in the two photos whipped up interest in many. It was the regular tie-dye mesh top, causing a disturbance in 2022 women fashion trends but with dramatic, cropped shoulder pads. Cardi B paired the exaggerated mesh top with orange cargo pants and white-toed, black converse sneakers. The stimulating ensemble was complete with a pair of white shades that looks like a cross between swim goggles and oval cat eyeglasses.

Within minutes of her post, fans flooded her CS, some fondly liking her outfit to Japanese anime Dragon Ball Z. While others trolled her for her utterly drab fashion sense. It is in this category that a Twitter user @szaswiifey1 fell into.

Then Cardi B or rather Candid B, gave a resounding clap back. Her response to the troll’s tweet was “Shit you can’t afford.” Ouch, that stung.

A relentless @szaswiifey1 also quoted the American Rapper’s response with a lengthy note. “I guess you can’t afford a good surgeon cause why your face botched Shut your ass up! You ugly ass btch..,I just asked a question! Maybe if you put more time into learning how to rap….you’d acc amount to something!”

Meanwhile, Cardi B who only 5 days ago celebrated her son’s birthday, has since moved on to other pertinent things. It seems her response to the twitter troll has been deleted.

On her Instagram page, the successful mother of two made a birthday post with caption “Words can’t describe how this boy came In to my life and stole my heart 💙🌊…..name fits you perfectly…YOU THE WAVE!”

Cardi B also recently shared on her Instagram live, a tattoo of her son’s name “Wave” tatted on the right side of her face in red ink, below her cheek. Alongside another one of her first daughter “Kulture” which was inscribed on her left arm. She went on to mention how those who troll her for using filters wanted to see her ugly but she keeps getting ahead of them.

Trolling is harmful and can lower self-esteem, cause depression and provoke suicidal thoughts. Celebrities are always at the receiving end of dehumanising, abusive words from social media users. It’s important to recognise that celebrities are humans before they’re anything else and as such, should be treated kindly. There is no shield covering someone from being negatively affected by verbal abuse simply because they’re famous.

Police Launch Investigations on Jussie Smollett Attack

American actor Jussie Smollet, an empire star has been attacked in Chicago, by two men who shouted racist and homophobic slurs. Chicago police are investigating it as a hate crime.

Police say the 36-year-old Empire cast member was walking home from a 24-hour Subway restaurant in the 300 block of E. Lower North Water Street around 2 a.m. when two men allegedly began yelling homophobic and racial slurs at the actor on North Lower Water Street near Smollett’s apartment.

Chicago police say along with the verbal attack Smollett reported the men threw an unknown substance on him and placed a rope around his neck.

Sources say Smollett left the rope on his neck roughly 45 minutes until police arrived.

But the alleged attacked is not captured on the hundreds of surveillance videos the 12 detectives assigned to the case have poured through.

“I know the police department is working aggressively,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel said. “The alleged statement of what happened her is horrific, and there’s no place for it in the City of Chicago.”

Smollett also told police the attackers allegedly yelled, “This is MAGA country,” referring to President Donald Trump’s slogan.

Police say there is video of Smollett inside the Subway, and they located video of the people wanted for questioning Wednesday.

Detectives are working the incident as a possible hate crime.

Smollett, who was not seriously hurt, talked to CNN’s Don Lemon who said “Smollett was shaken and angry” and “fought back at the attackers.” Chicago CBS reports.

“The racist, homophobic attack on Jussie Smollett is an affront to our humanity. No one should be attacked for who they are or whom they love,” House speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a tweet. “I pray that Jussie has a speedy recovery and that justice is served. May we all commit to ending this hate once and for all”

  • Melanie Martinez from “The Voice” Accused of Sexual Assault by Ex-Friend

Melanie Martinez from “The Voice” Accused of Sexual Assault by Ex-Friend

Singer Melanie Martinez, who rose to fame competing on season three of NBC’s “The Voice,” has been accused by a former friend of sexual assault. The alleged incident was detailed by Timothy Heller, herself an aspiring musician, who, in a four-part tweet, recounted a night during which she “repeatedly said no” to Martinez’s sexual advances. Heller accuses Martinez of forceful penetration with a sex toy, among other acts.

The Los Angeles-based Heller posted the tweet just before UTC-3 p.m yesterday. Within eight hours, it was retweeted more than 50,000 times.

Martinez and Heller appear to have a friendship that dates back to 2015, judging by images on social media platforms.

Yesterday, Martinez posted a response on her own Twitter, writing, “I am horrified and saddened by the statements and story told by Timothy Heller. What she and I shared was a close friendship … We tried to help each other. We both had pain in dealing with our individual demons… She never said no to what we chose to do together. And although we parted ways, I am sending her love and light always.”

  • Ben Affleck Maybe Joked About Sexual Harassment, And People Are Angry

Ben Affleck Maybe Joked About Sexual Harassment, And People Are Angry

Behold the first cringeworthy moment from Ben Affleck’s sure-to-be-messy “Justice League” press tour.

Ahead of the superhero film’s release on Friday, Affleck has been perilously making the interview rounds with the rest of the cast following a series of scandals.

After publicly condemning producer Harvey Weinstein, Affleck found himself at the center of his own sexual harassment controversy when Hilarie Burton said he grabbed her breast during a 2003 “TRL” interview. He later apologized for “acting inappropriately,” but stayed silent when another woman came forward to say that the actor groped her at a Golden Globes party.

Now, he’s drawing all the wrong kinds of attention for a comment he made in an interview with MTV last week.

When Affleck’s co-star Ray Fisher, who plays Cyborg in the film, was asked what would happen if Supergirl teamed up with Justice League, he took the PR-friendly route, saying, “I think it would create a different dynamic.”

And then Affleck, failing to read the room, blurted out, “You following the news at all?”

Watch a clip from the interview below.

While Affleck mentioned he wanted to see more women in the DC cinematic universe seconds before, his comment immediately drew ire on social media.

It’s not entirely clear what the actor meant, but many have interpreted his remark as making light of the recent wave of sexual misconduct allegations in Hollywood.
