Shopping Destinations in Istanbul: Istanbul, Turkey’s most populous and revenue-generating city, is one of the busiest cities in Turkey due to its geographical location, as it stands between two continents (Europe and Asia). The city has served as the transit point for many international flights and, as such, has attracted much attention to Turkey’s textiles. Every year, a lot of people plan their trip to Turkey for wholesale or personal shopping of clothes and accessories, partly because clothes and accessories are quite cheap in Turkey, but that depends on the particular shopping location.

The Grand Bazaar is the world’s largest Bazaar (66 streets and about 22 entrances), a title that makes it very famous and very popular in Turkey. Everyone (both foreigners and citizens) living in Istanbul knows and have been to bazaar so be rest assured that if you are visiting this bazaar for shopping, you can easily locate the bazaar by taking taxi, metro or train to the center of Beyazit and then take a 1 minute walk to the gate of the Bazaar.
The Bazaar sell everything except cars of course. Things to find at the Bazaar includes but not limited to Clothes (all types of clothes both modern and traditional wears especially the Turkish traditional wears, Arabian Traditional wears and others), shoes, bags (purse, wallets, handbags, travelling bags), golds, diamonds, jewelries (all kinds of accessories), tea, herbal products, food items, spices, and kitchen items, etc. all these things are very cheap at the Bazaar especially when you are buying in bulk (wholesale buying are extremely cheap).
The Bazaar is very big and can take a lot of time to go by everything so it is advisable to dedicate a whole day for shopping at the Bazaar especially if you can start early in the morning. Don’t forget that the Bazaar closes at 6 pm.
The Mall of Istanbul
Location: Ziya Gökalp, Süleyman Demirel No:7, Istanbul.
The mall of Istanbul which was opened 6 years ago (2014), is one of the biggest malls in Istanbul. The mall holds about 350 stores, a playground for children and a cinema section that has over 30,000 seats in its 16 halls. Therefore, if you are one of those people that like to get their shopping done in one place, then the Mall of Istanbul is the best shopping mall for you because, you will find everything that you are looking for (from expensive designer clothing and accessories to local one).
The Kanyon Shopping Center
Location: Levent, Büyükdere Cd. No:185, 34394 Şişli, İstanbul
The Kanyon Shopping Center is another wonderful Mall in Istanbul that serves the purpose of all shopping both wholesale and retail. The Mall is a multi-purpose complex established in 2006 with 160 stores, 30 floor office towers, a 22-floor residential block with 179 residential apartments within the complex of the Kanyon.
Here you have part of the building where people live and especially tourists can rent holiday apartment as well as, there are offices for different business transaction and then the main Mall which has 160 shops to guarantee you a nice shopping experience and many restaurants for relaxing and eating after shopping or while taking a break from shopping.
Nişantaşı
Apart from the Bazaar and the numerous malls in Istanbul, there are also a lot of shopping streets. Most of the streets in Istanbul are full of boutiques selling clothes and accessories. Nişantaşı is one of those location in Istanbul that has a lot of shopping streets. Here, you will find most of the major designer stores on this street. As far as designer clothes are known, money has to be spent, so if you are equipped with the necessary finance for designer clothes for personal use or to sell, you can visit this side of Istanbul, where you can be guaranteed that the product is original, directly from the various designers.
Zeytinburnu Street Shops: Shopping Destinations in Istanbul
Here, you will find a lot of cheap designer clothes that are not completely original but replica. There are also a lot of Turkish made local designs that are original and of high quality here too. Basically, everything is made cheap, affordable and accessible for everybody.
They are extremely cheap and all in fresh packs. So, if you don’t like the prices of some of the things at the shopping mall, you might want to consider buying from the street shops which are sometimes cheaper but of course you can first go around some of the shops and compare the prices before buying.
