Google to Retire Google Checkout

Over the recent months, there has been some rumors about google intention to retire google checkout. Finally, google has made an official release confirming that story. Yes! Google will retire checkout On November 20, 2013.

If you are reading this, I know you are not happy about it. So are we and other merchants using the google checkout as a payment processor. Ofcourse, this will also mean that after November 20, 2013 you will no longer be eligible to use the blogger shopping cart powered by google checkout.

If you are a merchant who sell digital goods or perform virtual services, you can migrate to  Google Wallet for digital goods before the deadline date. However, merchants selling through Google-hosted marketplaces (e.g. Google Play) will be unaffected by this development.

If you are using the google checkout payment processor for selling physical goods (e.g: running an eCommerce site), you should consider switching to another payment processor.
