Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre was supposed to be a high-energy, pulse-pounding, action comedy movie. That showcases Statham’s trademark blend of badassery, humor, and heartwarming charm. Yet the movie which was directed by British director Guy Ritchie was a clear miss. Ritchie has won several awards, raves, and reviews for his previous works with Statham.
The Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre 2023 movie was originally slated for release on January 21, 2022, and March 18, 2022, but was released on January 4, 2023. The movie has everything that we’ve come to expect from Statham: edge-of-the-seat thrills, and heart-stopping stunts. Statham stars as Orson Fortune. An MI6 agent teams up with CIA agent Sarah Fidel (Aubrey Plaza), and JJ Davies (Bugzy Malone). To retrieve a stolen AI device before a notorious arms dealer named Greg Simmonds auctions it off.
One thing fans all love about Jason Statham is how untouchable he is in movies. Swiftly annihilating bad guys with as little as a bruise from the beginning till the end credits. The man walks on clouds and do we love to see it?.
While Operation Fortune isn’t exactly one of the best action movies. Neither does it come close to Statham’s box office hits, the movie has been well-received among fans and critics alike. And it’s not hard to see why it’s on the list of good new action movies in 2023. Statham’s performance in action movies is electrifying. And he delivers some of the most breathtaking action sequences while keeping his suave style and no-nonsense persona. Although, his chemistry with Plaza which was sadly never explored would have been nothing short of impeccable. Since the movie’s storyline was a bit too drab. Nonetheless, it’s good to have Statham back on our screens and Ritchie, back in his director chair.
